What is Cash Flow?
Cash flow is the money moving into and out of a business over a period. Operating cash flow measures cash generated by normal business activity, separate from accounting profit.
Why it matters
A company can report profit and still run short of cash, so investors watch cash flow closely. Positive, growing operating cash flow is a sign of a healthy business.
